Vitour P1 C7 Autocross Feedback

Vitour P1 C7 Autocross Feedback

Brad Larson put the Vitour P1s to the test in his C7 Corvette during an Evo School autocross weekend—giving us a clear look at how the tire performs across multiple runs and changing conditions.

The tires were brand new when mounted. As expected, the first run was slick while the mold release wore off—but even then, the P1s were surprisingly quick. By the third run, they felt fully online and stayed consistent for the rest of the session.

After eight runs, the car was parked for a couple of hours before heading out for three more as a simulated event. Here’s what stood out:

  • Mid-corner & transitional grip felt comparable to A052s
  • Power delivery was better—likely due to the wider sizing
  • Steering response was similar to CR-S V2s: lively and direct
  • Heat handling was solid—minimal falloff across repeat runs

Brad noted wanting a bit more front-end authority on corner entry and found that sharp hand speed in transitions could upset the balance. But when everything lined up, the tire performed exceptionally well.

“In that really narrow range of course, temperature, and pressure where A052s shine, the P1s might be just a bit behind. But the P1s have a much, much wider window of peak performance and repeatability—and are now my go-to tires.”

Setup Details:
315/30/18 front on 18x11
345/30/18 rear on 18x12.5
Preferred hot pressures: 32 front / 30 rear

Benchmark:
Brad ran just over a second behind Brian Peters in a C8 Z06 (also on P1s!) on a ~40-second course.
